Head Music: two of us

Song: Two of Us
Artist(Band):The Beatles

Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone's
Hard earned pay
You and me Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home...

2046

Saw a very interesting movie some days ago. Very melancolic and platonic (marca da casa Wong Kar-wai, e do imaginário romantico dos chineses).
The Scenes are delicious, even though the movie is slow. Future, Past and Present are all there, and so is Love and its strange way of manifestating.

QUOTES FROM MOVIE "2046" from Wong Kar-wai

Chow Mo Wan: Everyone who goes to 2046 has the same intention, they want to recapture lost memories. Because in 2046 nothing ever changes. But, nobody knows if that is true or not because no-one has ever come back.

Chow Mo Wan: When you don't take "no" for an answer, there is still a chance you'll get what you want.

Chow Mo Wan: Take care. Maybe one day you'll escape your past. If you do, look for me.
Tak: Do you know what people did in the old days when they had secrets they didn't want to share? They'd climb a moutain, find a tree, carve a hole in it, whisper the secret into the hole and cover it up with mud. That way, nobody else would ever learn the secret...

Chow Mo Wan: Love is all a matter of timing.
Chow Mo Wan: It's no good meeting the right person too soon or too late.
Chow Mo Wan: If I'd live in another time or place...
Chow Mo Wan: ...my story might have had a very different ending.

HEADMUSIC: Subterranian Homesick Blues - by Bob Dylan

"Look out kid
Don't matter what you did
Walk on your tip toes
Don't try, 'No Doz'
Better stay away from those
That carry around a fire hose
Keep a clean nose
Watch the plain clothes
You don't need a weather man to know which way the wind blows."

HeadMusic: "Is War as old as Gravity?"

Track: War & Peace (Aoki Takamasa Remix)

Music and Words concept by Ryuichi Sakamoto
Words by Arto Lindsay
Album: Bricolages

Is War as old as Gravity?

If I love Peace, do I have to love the trees?

Are there animals that like peace and animals that like war?

Is Peace quiet?

Is making war an instinct that we inherit from our ancient farming ancestors?

Were farmers the first Warriors?

Do we Love without thinking?

Do we do the right thing without thinking?

When children fight with their brothers & sisters, are they learning about war?

How do we test the limits of our bodies without war?

Why do they compare war to a man, and peace to a woman?

Peace is unpredictable.

Why is dangerous to say: never forget?

HeadMusik - Comme s'il en pleuvait

Song: Comme s'il en pleuvait
Artist: Mayra Andrade
Album: Navega (2006)
Chords: Am Dm Am E7 Am

Gagne ton ciel et me sois bonne,
Ma jouvencelle, ma mignonne

Layala layalala yalala
Comme s'il en pleuvait
Layala layalala yalala
Comme s'il en pleuvait
Layalaya layalala
Layalala yalalalila
Comme s'il en pleuvait
Layalilala layalili yalalila
Comme s'il en pleuvait
Ayilayala layala layalalala
Comme s'il en pleuvait
Lalali lalali, alali lalilayila
Comme s'il en pleuvait

HeadMusic #29 "Summertime"

Summertime, and the living is easy
Fish are jumping, and the cotton is high
Your daddy's rich, and your ma is good looking
So hush little baby, don't you cry.
One of these mornings, you're gonna rise up singing
You're gonna spread your wings and take the sky
But till that morning, there is nothing can harm you
With your daddy and mommy standing by

In wikipedia: A famous lullaby is "Summertime" from the Porgy and Bess musical of 1935. Sometimes it is also referred to as the Gershwin Lullaby.

Although many of the jazz improvizations of this song have "wild chromaticism", the original is quite soothing, and somewhat slow and melancholy, in natural minor. Gershwin was actually inspired to write the song after hearing a Ukrainian lullaby, Oi Khodyt Son Kolo Vikon (A Dream Passes by the Window) in 1926. The recurring gentle rocking back and forth between A-minor 6th and E-seventh, in the orchestral strings version, is simultaneously both sad and comforting. Additionally, many parents sing this song (unaccompanied) to their children, at bed time.

HeadMusic #12 - The end has no end

The end has no end the end has no endThe end has no end the end has no endThe end has no end the end has no endThe end has no end the end has no end...

One by one, ticking time bombs won

It's not the secret of the government

That´s keeping you dumb

Oh, it's the other way around - wait...

What's that sound?

One by one, baby, here they come.

He want it easy; he want it relaxed

Said I can do alot of things, but I can't do that

Two steps forward, then three steps back

It won't be easy

"Won't you take a walk outside?"-Oh no.

"Can't you find some other guy?"-Oh no.

"1 9 6 3 what's that sound?"-Oh no.

Keeping down the underground

Oh no...

The end has no end the end has no endThe end has no end the end has no endThe end has no end the end has no endThe end has no end the end has no end...

Ed Tom Bell:
I don't know. Had dreams.

Loretta

Ed Tom Bell:
They always is to the party concerned.

Loretta
Bell
: Ed Tom, I'll be polite.
Ed Tom Bell:
Alright then. Two of 'em. Both had my father in 'em . It's peculiar. I'm older
now then he ever was by twenty years. So in a sense he's the younger man.
Anyway, first one I don't remember to well but it was about meeting him in town
somewhere, he's gonna give me some money. I think I lost it. The second one, it
was like we was both back in older times and I was on horseback goin' through
the mountains of a night. Goin' through this pass in the mountains. It was cold
and there was snow on the ground and he rode past me and kept on goin'. Never
said nothin' goin' by. He just rode on past... and he had his blanket wrapped
around him and his head down and when he rode past I seen he was carryin' fire
in a horn the way people used to do and I could see the horn from the light
inside of it. 'Bout the color of the moon. And in the dream I knew that he was
goin' on ahead and he was fixin' to make a fire somewhere out there in all that
dark and all that cold, and I knew that whenever I got there he would be there.
And then I woke up

HeadMusic: Strangers - Did you realize no one can see inside your view? (Is it?)

(...)
Ohh........
Can anybody see the light
Where the morn meets the dew and the tide rises
Did you realise, no one can see inside your view
Did you realise, forwhy this sight belongs to you

excerpt of song: Strangers, from Portishead's 1994 debut, "Dummy". It is a timeless album that swings from mood to mood(from heartbreakingly dark to teary eyed to slightly optimistic).

Mas... A ciencia parece avançar em direcçao ao nosso mais único interior...

Será?

HeadMusic #02 - Strugglin´ (by K´Naan)

Hoje acordei com o swing relaxado Soul Hip-Hop que escutei por primeira vez no FMM de Sines:

Ladies & Gents originaly from Somalia living in the States,
K´Naan, the Dusty Foot Philosopher:

Talvez um pouco pop, mas dá para relaxar e oscilar um pouco a cabeça ao son do beat.
