Catastrophies vs. Market: Words can tumble the stock exchange

Japan lives its own appocalypsis, the one they have been projecting trough art comics, cinema, movies... The specter of past happenings is real today. Nature was not kind to the island and its people. Now its snowing in ground zero, but maybe it would be nice if it snowed near the nuclear plants... Things look out of control...

From what the media shows japanese people have been handling the situation the more calm, polite and orderly as possible... But until when?
There is permanent contradictionary information: Control vs out of control. Japan´s Emperor spoke yesterday, some japonese had never heard his voice.

The markets colapsed with UE Comissioners press release that sounded from old times end of the world preachers...

Lets hope the best for that country and people. I belive they will rise again.

World markets are now gyrating to the multiplicity of voices and statements on the disaster with European Commissioner Guenther Oettinger blundering in with both feet.

As the circumstances in Japan worsen, with snow and freezing weather adding to the humanitarian crisis, it is becoming ever more clear that this is far from a transitory event for the global economy.

The OECD is rapidly downgrading Japanese growth for the year with a loss of 2% of output placing the country back in recession territory.

As Japan is China's biggest trading partner that will have a real impact on the global outlook.
